Springy's is so much more than a place where you go to buy a stroller. Today it is an environment born from the thoughts and determination of a few different folks over the past Five Decades. The store was opened in 1957 by Mr. Fred Traini. At the time, he was selling baby goods on one side of the building while selling bicycles and sporting equipment on the other. And of course, running a repair shop in the back... which still exists to this day. Over the next couple of decades the business model stayed consistent with a slight narrowing of the sporting goods selection to only bicycles, skates and hockey equipment; and eventually to a bike store. Fred's son David took over the role as Leader of the Business and, in the late 1980's, in walked a 16 year old named Anthony Hough looking for a job as a bike mechanic. He proved to be a great addition and in time both his brothers, Stuart and Ellery, would work there as well.
In 2007, Springy's had been in business for '50 Years' when David Traini decided that he wanted to move on to other ventures. So, his loyal employees Anthony and brother Ellery Hough and their family decided to continue its legacy. It is so rewarding to have people come in to Springy's that are 4th and 5th generation customers and being told that 'they just had to come to Springy's' for the best customer service and products. This loyalty reminds us what we stand for and continue to work hard for. Thus began the new chapter of Springy's Tot Shoppe.
Although years of selling bicycles had solidified Springy's as a 'go-to place', Anthony and Ellery saw great potential in the other section of the store. And so the decision was made in 2008 to clear out all adult bicycles, now making Springy's 'A destination for Pregnant Mom, Active Parents & Growing Baby.'
Springy's stands out from other Baby Stores due to the experience and knowledge we've gained over the years and because we are also the mechanics that stand behind what we sell. Therefore we carry only quality products that we DO stand behind and would buy for our own families. Which we feel says A LOT.
